GMES/RSI and DCS Account Status Policy - DRAFT

This document describes who gets what types of computing and email accounts, and for how long. Two types of accounts are described here: a general computing account in the GMES/RSI network, and an MTU email account provided by Distributed Computing Services (DCS).

The table below shows what type of access is granted in most situations.

Notes

  1. Admitted students are given DCS email accounts, but not GMES/RSI accounts. If they do not enroll as planned, their email account is closed with no grace period given.
  2. Accounts remain active for six months from graduation date. Students who remain on campus to finish course work must be enrolled and pay a basic access computing fee. See the Graduate School's continuous enrollment policy.
  3. Accounts remain active for four weeks from withdrawal date.
